Transferring Associate's to Bachelor's Credits

Regis has streamlined the process for adults who wish to transfer their community college degree or coursework into a four-year degree. Through our generous transfer policy and accelerated course formats, making the transition is easier than ever.

Transfer Students: Visit the Associate's to Bachelor's transfer web site

The Associate's to Bachelor's Program enables students to earn a bachelor's degree online or in the classroom by building upon the success of their associate's degree. Students who complete an Associate in Arts or Science degree plus an additional 30 hours of credit receive senior status at Regis, and then complete their fourth and final year with Regis. This approach allows students to receive a degree from a prestigious private university at an investment equivalent to or less than that of a state college.

What makes this program different?

Regis University's College for Professional Studies is designed for working adults with at least three years of full-time work experience. Recognizing that professional students may already possess a wealth of knowledge in their chosen field through work, military training, or previous college coursework, Regis offers students options to earn college credit and waive required coursework. Students can earn up to 90 of the 128 credits needed for a bachelor's degree with these options:

CLEP and DANTES (DSST) Exams

The College-Level Examination ProgramŽ or CLEP provides students of any age with the opportunity to demonstrate college-level achievement through a program of exams in undergraduate college courses. Over 2,900 colleges grant credit and/or advanced standing for CLEP exams and each of them sets its own CLEP policy.

The DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST) is a nationally recognized testing program that provides students the opportunity to receive college credit for learning acquired outside the traditional college classroom. The program consists of exams in 47 undergraduate college courses.

Prior Learning Assessment Portfolio

Prior Learning Assessment Portfolio allows students to earn college credit based upon knowledge earned through life and work experience. Portfolio specialists guide and assist students through the process of matching learning experiences to college course descriptions. Students have earned Prior Learning Assessment Portfolio credit in a wide range of academic disciplines, including business, communication, computer science, education, arts, and social sciences.

Transfer credit from previous coursework

Students can transfer up to 90 credits from their associate's degree or previous community college coursework. Advisors will work closely with students to assure the maximum number of credits is transferred to Regis.

Teacher licensure

Teacher Education students will need to take more credits at Regis University to complete their four-year degree.
